Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath used a public meeting in Ayodhya to accuse the Congress and Samajwadi Party of permitting namaz to be offered on the steps of the Hanumangarhi temple and of opposing the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa inside Delhi’s Jama Masjid. He also alleged that the previous SP government misused temple donations to fund the construction of mosque walls.

At the same event he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 217 development projects in the region, saying they represent more than Rs 432 crore of expenditure and mark the transformation of Ayodhya into a cultural and tourism hub. He reiterated earlier claims that the BJP government had freed 64,000 acres of land from illegal encroachment and that the reclaimed land was being used for universities, medical colleges and investment projects.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav responded on social media, demanding district‑wise details of the alleged 64,000 acre land recovery and questioning the credibility of the SIT probing the Ram Temple donation theft case.
