Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath initiates digital self‑enumeration for 2027 census
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formally launched the first phase of the state’s fully digital 2027 census, termed “self‑enumeration”, on May 7. He urged residents to register their details online by May 21, saying accurate real‑time data will improve planning of development schemes.
On May 6, while staying at the Gorakhnath Temple premises in Gorakhpur, the chief minister entered his own information on the online portal, demonstrating the process. He emphasized that the initiative will make the census more transparent, faster and more inclusive, linking the exercise to the slogan “our census – our development”. The campaign aims to modernise data collection and ensure benefits of welfare programmes reach every citizen.
