Yogi Adityanath launches electric buses linking Noida‑Greater Noida to Jewar Airport

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath virtually flagged off a fleet of 45 electric buses and three hydrogen‑powered buses for the Noida‑Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region. The launch coincided with the inauguration of the Noida Electric Bus Depot, which will serve as the charging and maintenance hub for the new fleet.

The buses will provide direct connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, with fares set between Rs 10 and Rs 30. Initial routes cover nine corridors linking key sectors, residential areas and the airport. The state plans to have 110 electric buses operating by June 15, with a long‑term target of scaling the fleet to 500 vehicles.

In addition to the electric fleet, three hydrogen buses supplied by NTPC will operate in the YEIDA area, using green hydrogen produced from treated sewage water. The initiative is presented as part of Uttar Pradesh’s broader push for green mobility and reduced air pollution.
