Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath launches restoration of 68 Sambhal pilgrimage sites

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the BJP’s ‘double‑engine government’ has begun restoring 68 pilgrimage sites in the Sambhal district, citing their desecration by invaders in 1526. The announcement was made in Chandausi after laying foundation stones for various development projects.

During the same event Adityanath unveiled a 145‑foot statue of Lord Ganpati and a 51‑foot statue of Lord Ram. He framed the restoration as a revival of the region’s religious and cultural heritage under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and accused previous governments of neglect and land‑encroachment by mafia elements.
