Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath launches second phase of Chalo School Campaign, orders separate TET

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the launch of the second phase of the state’s “Chalo School Campaign” on July 1, urging teachers to make classrooms engaging and parents to prioritize regular attendance and assess children’s dedication over marks. The campaign aims to increase enrolment and ensure consistent school attendance across the state.

In a separate education initiative, the CM directed the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission to conduct a separate Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET 2026) for in‑service teachers. The exam will be held from July 2‑4 at 955 centres in 60 districts, with about 1.99 million candidates – 1.67 million from Uttar Pradesh and 227,000 from other states – and includes provisions for transport, accommodation, safety and basic facilities.
