Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi launches ₹758 bn projects, accuses SP and Congress of anti‑Hindu politics

On July 11 2024, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a public meeting in Gorakhpur after inaugurating a suite of development works worth about ₹758 crore. The projects include the opening of five new roads costing ₹697.49 crore and 19 tourism‑related initiatives valued at ₹60.63 crore, all within the Pipraich assembly segment.

In the same speech, Yogi sharply criticised the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Indian National Congress, declaring, “सपा का इतिहास रामभक्तों के खून से सना है” (the SP’s history is stained with the blood of Ram devotees). He accused the opposition of opposing Hindu religious practices, restricting pilgrimages such as the Kaveri‑Yatra, and tolerating caste‑based division, while claiming the present government has advanced Ayodhya’s heritage, infrastructure, and religious tourism.

Yogi framed the development drive as evidence of the “double‑engine” BJP‑led administration’s commitment to heritage preservation and economic progress, contrasting it with what he described as the former governments’ neglect of the region.
