Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath launches weekly block‑level public meetings
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that every development block in Uttar Pradesh will hold a weekly “choupal” to address citizen complaints on matters such as revenue disputes, domestic violence, illegal collection, and police grievances. The meetings will also help eligible residents access government schemes. Officials will receive detailed SOPs, and district‑level officers must attend each session.
The CM also issued special directives for the upcoming Ganga Dussehra and Eid al‑Adha festivals, barring animal sacrifices at public venues, limiting slaughter to designated sites, prohibiting open meat sales, and ensuring waste disposal, electricity, sanitation, and security. Additional measures include a crackdown on vehicles without number plates, the formation of a task force against illegal mining, a zero‑tolerance stance on land‑mafia activities, and the rapid appointment of medical officers in underserved districts. The administration highlighted the cataloguing of 1.2 million manuscripts under the “Gyan Bharat Mission.”
