On May 9, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Governor Anandi Ben Patel at Lucknow’s Jan Bhawan, presenting her with a book after a brief courtesy visit. The CM had earlier attended the West Bengal swearing‑in ceremony and a police sports competition before the meeting.

Following the encounter, political analysts and senior party sources said the state government may announce a cabinet expansion before the 2027 assembly elections, possibly adding Dalit women, OBCs and other representatives.
