Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath warns mafia, orders storm relief and compensation

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a public rally in Mau, warning mafia and other disruptive elements that any attempt to disturb religious events would result in severe consequences, saying “their downfall will be like that of Ravan and Kans.” During the same visit he inaugurated over ₹39 billion worth of welfare projects, including a rural soldiers’ hospital.

Following a night of strong winds, heavy rain and lightning that caused extensive damage across several districts, Adityanath appealed to residents to stay cautious. He instructed district officials to accelerate rescue operations, assess damage, and release relief funds promptly. He also ordered compensation of ₹5 lakh for families of workers killed in a bridge accident on the Betwa River and ₹50 thousand for the injured, and demanded that any negligence in relief work be unacceptable.
