Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai calls for probe into Ram Temple fund misuse and rejects One Nation‑One Election

Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai accused the RSS and the ruling BJP of admitting theft of offerings at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, saying the administration was designed to facilitate financial misappropriation. He demanded a time‑bound investigation by a sitting Supreme Court judge into the alleged embezzlement by a Supreme Court judge and urged the apex court to monitor the probe.

Rai also criticised the proposed One Nation‑One Election bill, arguing it is not in India’s interests and has numerous shortcomings. He said the federal system should be preserved and that an overhaul of the entire electoral process is unnecessary. The comments were made during a Joint Parliamentary Committee consultation in Lucknow on the bill.

Both remarks highlight Rai’s challenge to the central government’s policies and his call for greater accountability in temple finances and electoral reforms.
