Uttar Pradesh expands medical colleges to 85 and MBBS seats to 13,600

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a significant expansion in the state's healthcare infrastructure. According to the Chief Minister, the number of medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh has increased from 36 in 2017 to 85.

Additionally, the number of MBBS seats has risen from 4,690 to more than 13,600. The Chief Minister stated that these developments are part of a vision to create a ‘Swastha-Saksham Uttar Pradesh’, aiming to provide greater healthcare security and quality treatment closer to home for citizens.
