Uttar Pradesh to launch career guidance program using IAS and IPS officers

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a new initiative to provide career guidance to intermediate-level students through direct interaction with civil servants. Under this program, young officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Forest Service (IFS) will visit at least one school every month to engage with students.

The sessions will focus on interactive discussions and Q&A formats, covering topics such as goal setting, effective study methods, time management, and self-discipline. Officers will provide specific guidance on preparing for various competitive examinations, including UPSC, UPPSC, UPSSSC, NDA, JEE, NEET, and CUET, as well as opportunities in higher education, technical fields, entrepreneurship, and startups.

To ensure effective implementation, District Magistrates (DMs) are responsible for creating monthly schedules for these school visits. District School Inspectors (DIOS) will coordinate between the schools and the visiting officers, while Divisional Commissioners will periodically review the program. Reports on the activities must be submitted to the government by the 5th of every month.
