Uttar Pradesh increases PRD duty allowance and medical benefits

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced significant welfare measures for members of the Provincial Rakshak Dal (PRD) during a conference in Gorakhpur. The government is increasing the daily duty allowance for PRD volunteers from 500 rupees to 600 rupees.

Additionally, the Chief Minister launched the ‘Chief Minister PRD Cashless Medical Scheme’. This initiative provides annual cashless medical treatment of up to 5 lakh rupees for more than 31,000 PRD volunteers and their families. Including family members, the scheme is expected to benefit over 1.55 million people through government and empanelled hospitals.

To improve infrastructure, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a multi-story PRD barrack in Lucknow, estimated to cost approximately 23 crore rupees. These measures aim to support volunteers who assist police and administration in maintaining law and order, managing traffic, and conducting disaster relief operations.
