Uttar Pradesh launches AI‑focused youth skill policy

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the preparation of a comprehensive youth policy aimed at education, employment and future‑ready skills. The policy will prioritize training in artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, drones and semiconductors, and will involve an independent expert commission to monitor progress.

The state already runs one of India’s largest vocational education networks, with more than 326 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and nearly 3,000 private ITIs that train close to one million young people each year. The new roadmap seeks to strengthen this ecosystem through industry partnerships, entrepreneurship support, and a single digital platform offering career guidance, scholarships and job‑matching services.
