Uttar Pradesh launches skill training for students and staff

The Uttar Pradesh government is implementing two major initiatives to enhance educational quality and employability within the state.

Through ‘Project Pravin’, the government is introducing vocational skill training for 5,123 students studying in seven residential Jay Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas in the Banda division. Students from grades 9 to 12 will receive three-to-six-month certificate courses in fields such as apparel, IT-ITES, retail management, beauty and wellness, electronics, and automobile sectors. The training, which includes two days of practical classes per week, will be conducted on school premises at no cost to the students.

Simultaneously, the state is utilizing the ‘Mission Karmayogi’ portal to strengthen the capacity of the Basic and Secondary Education Department's workforce. Director General of School Education, Monika Rani, has directed all officials and employees to complete at least two mandatory courses. The selected curriculum includes topics such as digital lifestyle management, English vocabulary, effective teaching methods for pre-primary levels, stress management, and project management basics. This initiative aims to decentralize training and foster a culture of continuous learning from the school level upward.
