Uttar Pradesh leader Akhilesh Yadav clashes with BJP and state minister over elections and tourism

Socialist Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav denounced the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as failing on all fronts, warning SP workers to stay alert for potential electoral fraud ahead of upcoming elections. He accused the ruling party of providing substandard public services, inflating education fees, and undermining democratic institutions in Uttar Pradesh.

State minister Om Prakash Rajbhar responded sharply, criticizing Yadav for travelling abroad to London and Paris instead of promoting tourism within Uttar Pradesh. Rajbhar urged Yadav to visit domestic pilgrimage and heritage sites, arguing that such trips would benefit local businesses and create jobs.

Both remarks highlight heightened political tension in the state as parties vie for influence ahead of the 2027 assembly election.
