Uttar Pradesh officials begin EVM inspections for 2027 elections

In preparation for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, election officials have commenced technical inspections and security protocols for Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units in several districts.

In Chandauli, the EVM warehouse was opened under strict security and videography for First Level Checking (FLC). Representatives from multiple political parties, including the BJP, Samajwadi Party, Congress, Apna Dal (S), Aam Aadmi Party, and Bahujan Samaj Party, were present to monitor the process and ensure transparency.

In Basti, a team of eight engineers has begun testing 3,300 EVM and VVPAT machines. The technical examination is being conducted under CCTV surveillance to ensure the functionality and reliability of the equipment before the upcoming elections.
