Uttar Pradesh police arrest couple for murder and staged suicide

Police in the Pulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh have arrested a woman and her brother-in-law for the murder of a 35-year-old man named Sumit. While the family initially reported the death as a suicide occurring on August 31, a post-mortem examination revealed that Sumit had actually been strangled.

Investigations conducted by the police determined that the victim's wife, Kajal, and her brother, Umesh, had been involved in an illicit affair. Authorities stated the couple conspired to murder Sumit to continue their relationship and to seize his assets. The suspects allegedly strangled the victim and then staged the scene to make it appear as though he had hanged himself.
