Uttar Pradesh police bust two separate fraud schemes
The Gautam Buddha Nagar police in Greater Noida arrested 54‑year‑old Shashiranjan Prasoon, a suspect accused of preparing fake land‑registry documents and defrauding victims of more than 3 crore rupees. He is part of a gang for which nine members have already been detained.
In Jaunpur's Shahganj area, police captured Ramnivasa Gautam after a complaint revealed his gang posing as a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to threaten private clinics and dispensaries, demanding payments such as ₹20,000. The gang used intimidation to extort money, and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to locate additional suspects.
Both operations are part of ongoing Uttar Pradesh law‑enforcement actions targeting organized fraud networks.
