Uttar Pradesh reports two separate domestic homicide incidents

In Meerut’s Harra town, 45‑year‑old social‑media influencer Nisha Chauhan was stabbed to death on July 4 after a property‑registry dispute with her husband, Pradeep Kumar, who also injured himself and was hospitalized. Police say the argument centered on registering a plot of land in Chauhan’s name.

A separate case occurred in Kannauj district on July 2, where 50‑year‑old Govind Dubey attacked his wife, Aarti, with an axe during a domestic quarrel, leaving her seriously injured. Dubey subsequently hanged himself from a tree nearby; his body was recovered for post‑mortem. Both incidents are under investigation by local police.
