Uttar Pradesh rolls out electric bus fleet and expands expressway network under Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a fleet of electric and hydrogen buses in Noida, flagging 45 electric and three hydrogen units via video conference. He said the move is part of the state’s green‑mobility drive aimed at making transport petrol‑diesel free, with plans to operate up to 500 electric buses in the coming years and to link the services with the newly opened Noida International Airport, slated to start on 15 June.

At the same event the chief minister highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s upgraded infrastructure, noting the development of expressways such as the Ganga, Purvanchal and Bundelkhand corridors and the upcoming Lucknow‑Kanpur expressway. He claimed the state now has the country’s strongest road network, about 400,000 km of roads, and promoted several international airports—including those in Ayodhya, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kushinagar and Noida—while the Jevar airport project progresses. These initiatives are presented as steps toward attracting national and global investment and achieving net‑zero emissions.

Overall, the announcements signal a concerted effort by the Uttar Pradesh government to modernise transport, improve connectivity and position the state as a hub for sustainable development.
