Uttar Pradesh power crisis sparks spat between Akhilesh Yadav and BJP leaders

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav used social media to attack the Uttar Pradesh government over the ongoing power outage crisis. He criticised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, questioning the state’s response and suggesting internal discord, noting there is “no current left in BJP.” Yadav also queried whether Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma attended the CM’s review meetings and warned that the BJP could be heavily criticised in the next election.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who had posted a video of a BJP‑BSP interaction, replied to Yadav’s earlier comment that labelled him a “failed health minister,” defending his work and condemning what he called an insult to journalists. The exchange unfolded on X, reflecting heightened political tension amid the power shortages, even as the Energy Minister claimed record‑high electricity supply in the state.
