Uttar Pradesh to extend government doctor service age to 70

The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to extend the service age for government doctors from 65 to 70 years through a system of reappointments. This initiative, announced by Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak, aims to strengthen the state's healthcare infrastructure by utilizing the expertise of senior and specialist physicians.

By allowing experienced doctors to continue their service, the government intends to address shortages in hospitals, Community Health Centers (CHCs), and Primary Health Centers (PHCs). The health department noted that the clinical experience held by senior doctors is vital for treating complex and serious illnesses. Following instructions from the Deputy Chief Minister, the health department has begun the formal process of issuing the necessary orders to implement this change.
