Uttar Pradesh women lead over 50% of state startups

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted significant advancements in women's empowerment and economic participation during the Shardiya Navratri celebrations. He reported that women now lead more than 50% of the state's startups and that female workforce participation has risen from 12% to over 36%.

Adityanath credited various government initiatives for these shifts, including Mission Shakti, Operation Kayakalp, and the Kanya Sumangala Yojana. He noted that improved infrastructure, such as separate toilets and drinking water in schools, has helped reduce dropout rates among girls, which were significantly higher prior to 2017.

Additionally, the state government is organizing cultural programs at 26 selected Shaktipeeths and temples to promote messages of safety, respect, and self-reliance for women and girls.
