Uttarakhand approves 81 crore rupees for development and Kumbh Mela 2027

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved approximately 81 crore rupees for various development projects across the state. A significant portion of this funding, totaling 61.42 crore rupees, is earmarked for 18 specific infrastructure projects in Haridwar to prepare for the Kumbh Mela 2027.

The approved expenditures cover a wide range of sectors, including road construction, drinking water systems, irrigation, and the beautification of religious sites. Key regional projects include:

• Roadwork: Construction of 10-kilometer internal roads in the Champawat district, a 2-kilometer road in the Doiwala constituency of Dehradun, and various connectivity routes in Pithoragarh. • Religious Sites: Funding for the strengthening of ancient temples in Jaspur, the development of the Guru Gorakhnath Temple fairgrounds, and beautification efforts at the Bhawanadevi Temple in Almora. • Public Utilities: A 3.30 crore rupee allocation for the Saneh urban drinking water scheme in Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal.
