Uttarakhand Assembly begins two-day session in Gairsain

The Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly commenced a two-day session in Bhararisain, Gairsain, the state's summer capital. During this session, the government plans to present a supplementary budget exceeding 7,412 crore rupees and introduce eight new bills.

The session began with tributes to former Chief Minister B.C. Khanduri and former Cabinet Minister Heera Singh Bisht. While Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the government is prepared to address all queries from the opposition with facts, the Congress party has signaled intentions to confront the administration on issues including unemployment, inflation, and law and order.

Protests erupted outside the assembly as Congress leaders and workers, including State President Ganesh Godiyal, were detained by police following demonstrations against government policies. Additionally, the Pradhan Sangathan Uttarakhand organized a protest to demand the restoration of administrative and financial rights for village panchayats.
