Uttarakhand Chief Minister Highlights Shri Raghunath Temple's Spiritual Significance

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pukhkar Singh Dhami posted a video on social media describing the ancient Shri Raghunath Temple at Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet. He noted the shrine is dedicated to Lord Rama, is listed among the 108 divine realms, and has been a focal point of devotion for centuries.

The temple, built in the North Indian “Deula” architectural style, was originally restored in the 8th century by Adi Shankaracharya. Its present grand structure was begun by Jammu‑Kashmir ruler Raja Gulab Singh and completed by Raja Ranbir Singh in 1860. Dhami emphasized the site’s natural beauty and spiritual energy, urging visitors to experience its peace and divine atmosphere.
