Uttarakhand CM and Akshay Kumar discuss boosting film production

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar met with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the official residence in Dehradun to discuss enhancing film production within the state. The meeting focused on the implementation of the Uttarakhand Film Policy 2024, which aims to establish the region as a premier destination for filmmakers by leveraging its natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Under the current policy, the state government is utilizing a single-window clearance system to simplify and expedite shooting permissions. The policy also includes provisions for financial grants to encourage production. Chief Minister Dhami noted that these efforts are intended to create employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth, artists, and technicians, while simultaneously boosting related sectors such as tourism, hospitality, and transportation.

Kumar is currently in the region filming an upcoming comedy project in the Mussoorie and Landour areas.
