Uttarakhand CM announces temple corridor and Sanskrit initiatives
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced several cultural and educational initiatives for the state. During a visit to Uttarkashi, Dhami announced the construction of a temple corridor to link the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Maa Shakti Temple. He also stated that a proposal for a Kendriya Vidyalaya central school in Bhatwari would be submitted to the Central Government.
In preparation for the Haridwar Kumbh scheduled for 2027, the Chief Minister has directed officials to develop an action plan to promote the Sanskrit language. This initiative aims to implement year-round Sanskrit-based activities in model villages and major religious sites, including the Char Dham locations of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. The goal is to integrate Sanskrit with the state's religious and cultural heritage through regular speaking events and educational programs.
