Uttarakhand CM holds first Cabinet meeting near India-Nepal border

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched several initiatives focused on regional governance and tribal welfare. In a strategic move to decentralize administration, the state government held its first Cabinet meeting in Banbasa, Champawat district, located near the India-Nepal international border. Dhami stated that holding meetings outside the capital, Dehradun, aims to bring governance closer to the people and address local development needs and security in vital border regions.

Simultaneously, Dhami inaugurated the three-day Uttarakhand Aadi Rangotsav in Khatima. The festival showcases tribal art, culture, and products from over 15 states. During the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the government's commitment to tribal empowerment through improved education, healthcare, and housing schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri JANMAN Awas Yojana. He described Khatima as a ‘Mini India’ due to its significant cultural diversity.
