Uttarakhand hosts 21st State Science and Technology Conference

The 21st Uttarakhand State Science and Technology Conference (USSTC-2026) has commenced at Vigyan Dham in Dehradun. Organized by the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), the two-day event aims to address regional and national challenges through scientific and technological advancements.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the inaugural session via video message, while Science and Technology Minister Pradeep Batra emphasized the necessity of linking research and innovation to societal needs. UCOST Director General Durgesh Pant highlighted the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy 2026 and the ‘Vigyan Setu’ initiative, which seeks to foster coordination between science and society.

The conference features over 260 research papers presented across 13 technical divisions, including agriculture, biotechnology, earth sciences, engineering, and medical sciences. The event brings together researchers, policymakers, and innovators to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and sustainable development.
