Three men from Uttarakhand were arrested by the Surat City Cyber Crime Cell for facilitating a cyber fraud that duped a Surat resident of more than Rs 1.63 crore. The scheme, marketed as a gold mining investment called GRGC, used fake social‑media profiles, a deceptive trading app and bogus documents to promise high returns. investigators traced bank accounts used to route the proceeds to the suspects in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, and filed an FIR under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act. The accused allegedly collected commissions for providing bank accounts and other facilitation.
