Uttarakhand monsoon floods submerge Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple

Heavy monsoon rainfall in Uttarakhand has caused the Tamasa River to overflow, submerging portions of the historic Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Dehradun. The continuous downpours have caused significant disruption across the Garhwal division, leading to rising water levels in major rivers and prompting local administration to issue alerts.

Infrastructure damage has been widespread. In Tehri Garhwal, National Highway-707A was reported washed away beyond Dimta Bend, forcing vehicle diversions through Mussoorie Bend toward Vikasnagar. Additionally, NH-07 near Devprayag has been blocked by debris, and multiple roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Public Works Department have closed due to debris accumulation. The weather also caused a tree collapse in Dehradun, resulting in structural and material damage to nearby vehicles.
