Uttarakhand Premier League 2026 begins with women's tournament wins

The third edition of the Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) 2026 commenced on September 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun. The tournament features four teams: Pithoragarh Hurricanes, Dehradun Warriors, Bageshwar Aerial, and Mussoorie Queens.

On the opening day, the Dehradun Warriors secured a victory against the Pithoragarh Hurricanes. After electing to bowl first, the Warriors restricted the Hurricanes to 84/7 in 20 overs. Minakshi Joshi earned Player of the Match honors for her three-wicket performance. The Warriors successfully chased the target, reaching 85/3 in 14.1 overs.

In the second match, the Mussoorie Queens defeated Bageshwar Aerial via the DLS method following rain interference. Bageshwar Aerial posted 108/6 in their 20 overs, but the Mussoorie Queens reached 62/1 in nine overs before the weather intervened. Roshni Danu was named Player of the Match. The tournament is scheduled to conclude with the final on September 24.
