Uttarakhand publishes draft voter list after first SIR phase, 1.9 million names flagged
The Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand announced that the draft electoral roll was released on 14 July 2026 following the completion of the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme. The draft list contains 7,133,785 registered voters. about 1.9 million entries were found to have discrepancies and will be issued notices by the relevant Electoral Registration Officers.
Voters can lodge claims or objections using Form 6, 7 or 8 between 14 July and 13 August 2026, either offline through their Booth Level Officer or online via the ECINet app. A notice period runs from 14 July to 11 September 2026, after which the final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on 15 September 2026. The number of polling stations has risen to 12,543 from 11,733, with the distribution and digitisation of ballot papers completed between 8 June and 7 July.
The electoral roll revision aims to ensure accuracy ahead of the upcoming elections, with provisions for citizens to correct or remove entries through Forms 7 and 8 as well.
