Uttarakhand students protest over dangerous trees near school
In Pauri, Uttarakhand, more than 100 students from a private school staged a protest outside the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) office to demand the removal of hazardous trees along their school route. The students used drums and a band to draw attention to the danger, expressing frustration over a year of alleged inaction by authorities.
The school management stated they had repeatedly petitioned the Forest Department and district administration regarding the trees, which pose a threat to students and pedestrians. Following the protest, DFO Mahatim Yadav identified the dangerous trees and assured that the removal process would begin within two days.
