Uttarakhand to reimburse SGST on ‘Hanuman Ansh’ film tickets

The Uttarakhand government has announced it will reimburse the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) collected on tickets for the film ‘Hanuman Ansh’ in cinemas and multiplexes throughout the state. This initiative aims to promote the film, which depicts the spiritual journey of Laxman Das, the man who became known as the revered figure Neem Karoli Baba.

Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari issued the order, instructing the State Tax Department to implement the reimbursement. While both Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) and SGST are levied on ticket sales, only the SGST component will be reimbursed by the state.

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and starring Shobhinav Satya as Neem Karoli Baba, the film has maintained a strong theatrical presence for over 35 days, showing an upward trend in weekend collections.
