Uungula Wind Farm turbine blade begins transport from Newcastle

The first wind turbine blade destined for the Uungula Wind Farm near Wellington has begun its journey from the Port of Newcastle. Drone footage from Live Traffic NSW captured the component traveling through Jerrys Plains via the Golden Highway on Monday, August 10.

Live Traffic NSW has issued warnings regarding these "mega-sized loads," advising motorists to remain behind escort vehicles and exercise patience, noting that overtaking is unsafe. Drivers approaching from the opposite direction are advised to slow down and move to the left. Transport of these components is expected to continue in the coming months, with commuters able to monitor progress via traffic cameras at various locations, including the New England Highway, Hunter Expressway, Buchanan, Lovedale Road, and Wine Country Drive.
