Turkey holds widespread protests and events for Gaza

Across various cities in Turkey, including Antalya, Ankara, Trabzon, and Manisa, widespread protests and commemorative events have been held to mark the anniversary of the October 7 attacks and to protest the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Participants have organized silent marches, art exhibitions, and academic panels to draw attention to the civilian toll in Gaza. Reports cited during these events indicate that in the last three years, approximately 74,000 people, primarily women and children, have died in Gaza, with over 175,000 injured. Some speakers noted that even following ceasefire announcements, more than 1,500 Gazans were killed.

Civil society organizations, political figures, and students have called for international legal accountability for Israeli leadership and have urged the global community to maintain awareness of the situation to prevent the normalization of the violence.
