Uğurcan Çakır’s eye bandage is a training drill, not an injury
Turkish goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır was seen with a bandage over one eye during a training session. The bandage is part of a special drill in which the keeper covers one eye to sharpen reflexes, vision and coordination, a method sometimes used with goalkeepers. Neither club nor medical staff reported any injury; Çakır’s health was confirmed as good and he continues normal preparations for the new season.
A video of the session was posted on Galatasaray’s official YouTube channel on 7 August 2026, prompting social‑media speculation about a possible eye problem. The club clarified that the bandage was applied solely for the exercise and that Çakır remains fit for competition with Trabzonspor.
