Žuvinto Square marks one year since renovation in Alytus

One year after its renovation, Žuvinto Square has become a central meeting point in the Dainava micro-district of Alytus. The project, a collaborative effort between the municipality and private businesses, included the installation of new lighting, pedestrian paths, benches, and waste bins.

Key improvements featured the restoration of the 1981 sculpture-fountain ‘Vandenų žvėris su liūto kojomis’ by Lionginas Virbickas. Funding for the fountain's modern water filtration system was provided by UAB Glass LT (€30,000), while UAB Baltisches Haus contributed €90,000 toward the general repair works. The project was designed by MB Domus studium and executed by UAB Pietų Megrame.
