Uyo to host 5th Agribusiness Roundtable International Conference
The 5th Agribusiness Roundtable International Conference is scheduled to take place in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, from October 25 to 28. Organized by the Nigeria Agribusiness and Agro-Industry Development Initiative (South-South Region) and the Federation of Agricultural Commodity Associations of Nigeria, the event is held in collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Government and federal ministries.
Themed “Accelerating Agribusiness Transformation: Unlocking Value Chains to Achieve Food Security, Nutrition Sustainability, Job Creation, Poverty Alleviation, and National Prosperity,” the conference aims to attract private capital and integrate grassroots producers into global trade corridors. Organizers expect over 500 high-level executives, including state governors, federal ministers, and representatives from multilateral institutions.
Central Organizing Committee Chairman Howard Usen stated the conference serves as a platform for signing contracts and inaugurating processing hubs to ensure Africa exports processed goods rather than just raw materials. The event will feature an international trade pavilion, investor deal rooms, and specialized masterclasses designed to facilitate market access and financial inclusion for farmers and agropreneurs.
