Uyuca bus accident kills worker in Francisco Morazán

A passenger bus accident in the Uyuca sector of Francisco Morazán, Honduras, resulted in the death of a 24-year-old worker, Jorge Alberto Reyes García. Reyes García was performing paving work when the vehicle struck the construction area.

The bus driver reported a brake failure while entering the sector, stating that the system failed to engage. The vehicle was carrying 12 passengers at the time of the incident. One passenger, 25-year-old Luz Seidy Zambrano Alvarado, sustained injuries to her limbs, abdomen, and face after reportedly jumping from the moving vehicle to escape.

National Police agents have detained the driver as technical experts conduct investigations to determine if mechanical failure was the cause of the crash.
