Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan target $1 billion in bilateral trade by 2030

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are working to expand bilateral trade and investment cooperation, with a target to reach $1 billion in mutual trade turnover by 2030. Recent data shows significant growth, with trade turnover reaching $795 million in 2025, representing a 3.2-fold increase compared to previous periods.

Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade met with Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Rashad Mammadov, to discuss development roadmaps and new opportunities for business representatives. Key discussions included the organization of the 4th Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum in Tashkent.

In terms of trade composition, Azerbaijan's imports from Uzbekistan are heavily driven by gold products, accounting for 71% of the value. Conversely, Azerbaijan's exports to Uzbekistan are led by sugar, which constitutes approximately half of the export value. Other significant trade items include tobacco, copper, and walnuts.
