Uzbekistan and China Exim Bank expand cooperation on $1B+ projects
Uzbekistan and the Export-Import Bank of China are expanding financial cooperation to accelerate investment projects exceeding $1 billion. During a meeting between Deputy Minister Ilzat Kasimov and Wang Kang, vice president of the China Exim Bank, the two parties reviewed a joint project portfolio that currently surpasses $5.7 billion.
Discussions focused on seven promising projects valued at approximately $1.05 billion, spanning sectors such as hydropower, water infrastructure, agriculture, and transportation, including the Pungan-Namangan highway. Additionally, the sides addressed an ongoing $500 million telecommunications project. These initiatives aim to support Uzbekistan’s economic development and infrastructure needs through long-term financing.
