Kazakhstan seeks Bavarian partnership for logistics and semiconductor development

Kazakhstan is initiating a major infrastructure investment period focusing on transport, energy, and industrial development. The government aims to expand its national natural gas station network to 200 units by 2029 and nearly double its fleet of gas-powered buses.

During an official visit to Germany, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed that Bavarian businesses collaborate on developing industrial and logistics hubs along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). Tokayev also suggested a partnership program with the Bavarian Chips Alliance to integrate Kazakh companies into the semiconductor and microelectronics value chain, specifically targeting sectors like energy, mining, and manufacturing.

Private investors, such as Almaty Building & Co., are increasingly involved in developing and operating these long-duration assets to meet growing urban and industrial demand.
