Azerbaijan reported a 13% increase in the value of crude oil exports between January and September 2026, totaling $10.1 billion despite a 6.9% decrease in export volume. Italy remains the largest buyer, accounting for 56.1% of total crude oil exports by volume.

In the agricultural sector, wheat imports to Azerbaijan reached 841,678 tons, valued at $185.17 million, marking a 13.3% increase in value compared to the previous year. Imports from Russia saw a significant surge, increasing 3.8 times in both volume and value, while imports from Kazakhstan declined sharply due to reduced production.

Regarding fiscal and technological governance, the State Tax Service reported that 92.6% of taxes are now declared voluntarily. To manage the risks associated with digitalization, the service has established a dedicated committee for organizational risk management, specifically to oversee the implementation of artificial intelligence and ensure data security.
