Uzbekistan receives first Embraer C-390 Millennium aircraft
The Uzbekistan Air Force has officially taken delivery of its first Embraer C-390 Millennium multi-purpose tactical transport aircraft. The handover ceremony took place on September 25 at Embraer’s facility in Gavião Peixoto, Brazil.
This delivery makes Uzbekistan the first operator of the C-390 Millennium in Central Asia. The acquisition, contracted in late 2024, is part of a broader effort to modernize Uzbekistan’s military transport capabilities and replace aging Soviet-era fleets, such as the Antonov An-12 and An-26.
The contract includes the aircraft, a comprehensive training package, integrated logistical support, and spare parts. While the total number of aircraft and the contract value remain undisclosed for military reasons, industry reports suggest Uzbekistan may require between two and four units. Deliveries are expected to continue through 2027–2028.
The C-390 Millennium is capable of carrying up to 26 tons of cargo at speeds of approximately 470 knots. Its versatile design allows for troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, and firefighting missions. It is also capable of operating from unpaved runways and can function as an aerial tanker.
