Uzbekistan's Tashkent Investment Forum records record foreign attendance

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, reviewing recent economic achievements and outlining new priorities for foreign investors. He announced steps to strengthen legal guarantees, including the establishment of a Tashkent International Financial Centre and a dedicated commercial court modeled on English law.

The forum attracted a record 10,600 participants, with more than 4,000 delegates from 102 countries. High‑level guests included German President Frank‑Walter Steinmeier, Albanian President Bajram Begaj, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and senior officials from Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as leaders of major multilateral finance institutions.

Delegates discussed expanding capital markets, fostering alternative financing, and drawing investment into high‑value sectors such as robotics, pharmaceuticals, green energy and artificial intelligence. Projects totalling about $20 billion were presented, spanning solar and wind farms, energy‑storage systems, and technology parks in Tashkent and Samarkand. Organisers said the event underscored growing international confidence in Uzbekistan’s investment climate.
