The performance reaffirmed his dominance after winning the same event in San Salvador in 2023. Muñoz’s victory helped Mexico achieve a clean sweep of the podium: Jairo Morán earned silver with a 19.04‑metre throw, while Cuban Juan Vázquez’s 19.34 metres pushed Morán into third place, giving Mexico the bronze as well.
